She was traumatised and hasn’t been able to effectively deal with that. Laney’s obsession with timelines, universes, and what she saw three years ago, makes complete sense. This is a really interesting concept for a book, and I was really hoping and expecting to like this one! I’m genuinely disappointed that I didn’t. ![]() Now she’s 16, the lines between universes have started to blur, and Laney is finding that she’s able to skip between the timelines. In the three years since that day Laney has become obsessed with the idea of alternate universes where different choices lead to vastly different outcomes. Her father begged her not to tell anyone, but Laney immediately told her mother what she’d seen, which directly led to her parents breaking up. When Laney was 13 years old, she saw her father having sex with someone who wasn’t her mother. ![]()
